    Graphs of discharge, lifetime, etc

I would like to see graphs of the charge and discharge performance, battery events, etc

    Status: started

Work has started on this feature. Look for it in a future version.

Add the possibility to set the Designed Capacity manually

This would be great for batteries that don't send the right values too BatteryBar (like mine).

Add option to show discharge rate in taskbar.

I'd like this option because I like being able to see how much power I'm actually using and adjust brightness/what's on and enabled/etc. as I use the laptop. It's be easier to just have it scroll down on the taskbar. Thanks!

There isn't enough room to show the discharge rate in mW, but it might be possible to show W (e.g., -14 W rather than -14,214 mW).

    Add vista battery saver functionalities

I would definitely buy your program if you could add the following functionality (present in Vista Battery Saver but this software is a bit buggy and not maintained):
    - switch to a predefined power profile when plugged in, on battery or when battery power fall under certain percent
    - ability to d... more

Keeping a record of the battery usage

As many users know that the battery remaining time depends on their usage, however many of them including me, would like to know for how long did the actually battery last?

It will be very useful if the program can save a record of the time our battery lasted in the past. So we know that my b... more

    Options to hide/show features

Add the option to show/hide features such as "Charge/Discharge Rate".

My computer doesn't show that info, besides it could make it a little more compact, more minimalistic.

    Thanks!

    Status: under review

That's a decent idea. It will take some reworking on the code to get that to work, so it'll have to be put off for a future version.

Usefull when we want to format the notebook and restore the settings and profiles after it.

    Time on Battery

My suggestion is that you add the ability to display (only on request) how long the computer has been running on battery since the last charge. This feature would get me to pay for the program.

With the Windows taskbar on the side, BatteryBar is too big.

I have a widescreen and I put my Windows Taskbar on the side instead of at the bottom so my QuickLaunch bar can also be vertical instead of horizontal. BatteryBar does not shrink to a small-icon size while in this mode so it takes up too much space on the taskbar. Please consider this configura... more

It would work if I rotated the bar 90 degrees, as was suggested. I'll look into it.

add a "hide to System Tray" option

add an option "hide to System Tray" to move the soft to system tray from task bar

The Profiles.xml file should be saved in All Users folder

If I have multiple users accounts, the battery profile is saved only for each user. When I license battery bar, the license is activated only for one user. It should be saved for all users.

The problem with this is that the All Users folder is a protected folder in Vista and Windows 7. You must have admin privileges to write to it. I may be able to get around this by creating the file during install and giving the file write permissions, but I'll need to test that out.

Add option to hide notification after a set time

Add an option to hide the notification popup after a set period (e.g. 60 seconds).

Also, close the notification automatically if the status changes - example:

on battery, get low battery notification
    plug in to AC
low battery notification popup should automatically go away.

    Status: started

I have implemented the second portion (close when AC is plugged in) in beta build 57.

Seperate graphical and numerical representation for the 2 batteries

It would be nice if BatteryBar could show separate statistics for the 2 batteries I have on my laptop. I have an HP EliteBook and two batteries connected to it all the time: the primary one and a "travel" high-capacity one. Now, when those are being charged BatBar shows the time for the... more

    BatteryGadget

Even though there are lots of battery gadgets, I’d like to see this program in a gadget showing all the information on the popup window. I’m sure the program will be the best among all the available battery gadgets if it is beautifully designed.
To make the gadget very effective it should allow... more

    Theme ideas

Coming from a lenovo thinkpad, I really like battery bars that look like batteries. The only one that looks like a battery is Miobar and that one is kind of lame. I would like a Win7 aero one that looks like mio bar.

    Poll discharge rate more frequently

It would be great if the displayed discharge rate would get updated more often, like every 5 seconds (maybe only if the popup is displayed) Similar to as it is done in RMClock which refreshes the discharge rate more often and thus is more valuable to determine a power consuming or malfunction device.

show time of discharging, eg. discharging at 21.13

If its showing eg. remaining 3:18 and its 17:55 oclock I find it much more useful to be shown that I can work until 21.13 instead of showing 3:18 or 80% capacity.

That's an interesting request... I'll consider it for a future version.

Realtime Info in Warning Notification Popups

I'd like to suggest that the popups which appear in the Pro version to inform you that your battery is low, update themselves while they are on the screen.

They remain in the screen until closed (which I like) but after a few minutes, the minutes/percent displayed in the popup is outdated.

Add option to display capacity on mAh

While Windows reports capacity in mWh, it also provides voltage, which means that Battery bar could compute a reasonable estimate for mAh, just by dividing mWh by the average voltage remaining.

While mWh yields theoretically more consistant draw, mAh would allow people to callibrate their expe... more

That depends on the battery. All of my batteries have "Wh" printed on the battery. It's possible to do.
